Win The Ultimate Mud Machine

Hello AstonMTB'rs!

There are less than 3x days to win the Nicolai comp, but don't wait, with 80% of the tickets sold this is more likely to sell out before 20:00 on Monday.

If you did win, would you build The Ultimate Winter eMTB?

One of my favourite things to do with an eMTB is tackle technical climbs. It transforms the slogging up into sailing up, turning obstacles into fun challenges. If you have a dynamic and fun ride on the way up, then the descent is even better. This is the perfect way to pass a few hours out on those grey-sky days when the ground's muddy. With winter looming in the Northern Hemisphere, this is the bike you want!

Enter the Pinion MGU and Gates Carbon Drive – the ultimate solution.

By fully integrating the gears into the power unit, you eliminate cross-chaining and the hassle of grinding down expensive cassettes and derailleurs. (Not to mention the improved suspension performance and reduced unsprung weight!)

The Gates Belt Drive outperforms a chain in tough conditions. First, it doesn’t need oil to run. Plus, there are no joints or moving parts to wear down against themselves with grit and sand. The belt also has a much larger contact area with the sprockets compared to a chain, spreading wear more evenly. And thanks to the way the belt and teeth are shaped, mud and debris are constantly pushed out.

You know that feeling on the last steep climb of a long ride, when the chain is grinding in first gear at an angle, caked in mud, and it feels like you’ve got no power left? With the belt drive, that feeling never comes. The last climb is just as efficient as the first, no matter how bad the conditions get. Check the photo above, the contact surfaces of the belt are polished clean after a 40km wet and muddy ride!

Oh, and you can also use the e-system to power your lights for night rides during those short winter days!

Head to my Raffall page to enter for a chance to win either a Saturn MGU frame kit, a complete GeoMetron Bike, or even the soon-to-be-released G1 GPI with Pinion SmartShift and Belt Drive – worth up to £7,500!
