The Norco Shore Saga

Here’s a collection of all the Norco Shore content from my old website, Instagram and YouTube. I bought the Norco Shore as my first test bike for this channel which was a big commitment. I had the vision to review it and then turn it into an enduro superbike of the future but... I had no idea what this bike had in store for me.

The long story short is that there were multiple manufacturer-related issues with this bike that were all eventually resolved including getting a full refund which seems to be unheard of in the MTB world. Because of this independent review style and bringing attention to these problems, existing Shore customers all over the world were shipped a package of new parts, the tech manual was updated and new bikes received running changes. This was a great success for me and the goal to #buildbikebetter!

€5000 for a bike that worked for one hour in 18-weeks!

I'm really trying not to be negative about this, just sharing a story about a bike that doesn't work.

Well, the positivity didn't last long! Months of waiting for parts, hours spent rebuilding and more money spent. The bolt we lost previously starts loosening itself straight away - and nearly a full turn in two runs.

Plus the chain just won't stay on for more than a few minutes at best - falling off the lower non N/W chainring but also coming off from Norco's top guide which cannot be adjusted into a better position. This thing is killing me now! It's a mountain bike that cannot be used for mountain biking. It’s simply not fit for purpose

Well, it's over! Finally, a happy end to the story!

I bought the Shore as my first test bike for this channel which was a big commitment. I had the vision to review it and then turn it into an enduro superbike of the future but... ...I had a load of major problems which we managed to solve over 5 months. In the end, I had literally one good run on the bike, then we had to strip and return it to Bike24 as the frame was cracked and I got a full refund.

Since then Norco has fixed all the problems I highlighted (so it was not just me moaning!) and has sent out new frame parts and bike components to existing owners changed the specification on the new models, changed their setup guide and manufacturing processes all thanks to my independent review!

This bike was a nightmare for me, but ultimately Shore customers are getting their existing bikes upgraded or better bikes in the future.
